Plooto aims to deliver a Circular and Resilient Information System (CRIS) to support manufacturers in their green, digital and circular transition. CRIS enables waste reduction and end-to-end traceability of Secondary Raw Materials (SRM) through interconnected digital services for real-time decision-making, monitoring and certification of materials and products.

Last year was wrapped with quite a αfew deliverables for Plooto. @AegisItResearch together with @MAG, @TuC and @AUEB were the leading contributors to the #Plooto #Sustainability balanced scorecard framework. Did you know there are tens of frameworks and sets of standards out there to measure and report on sustainability? Don't worry, we are not adding one there. We are just taking the best elements of each of them and package them in a digital platform that will make the life of manufacturers and the actors of their value chains easier. Plooto project has already been running for 11 months. One of the project's aims is to innovate and make possible the reuse of waste carbon fiber composite materials for new products. Such an achievement shall contribute to the circular economy, reducing the environmental impact and minimizing the product cost, without sacrificing its performance. ACCELIGENCE proudly participates in Plooto, contributing with one of its UAVs as a pilot product. In the context of Plooto, the CFRP parts of this UAV shall be redesigned and manufactured from waste CF materials, after a specific requalification and production process. Today is the International #ewasteday, and for the occasion, Virginijus Sinkevičius , Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans, and Fisheries (EU Environment and Climate) at the European Commission, elaborates on the importance of recognizing (invisible) e-waste and its proper collection. In the dedicated video, he explains the newest recommendations of the European Commission on the incentives for return and take-back. They are meant to ensure citizens that the end-of-life appliances are properly treated, that their personal data is safe, and, most importantly, that the disposal is as convenient as possible.

Digital Product Passport (DPP), is an initiative by the European Commission and is a part of the Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP) proposed in the Sustainable Product Regulation in March 2022. Plooto's working model aims by fixing, reusing or recycling, as well as decreasing the need of extraction of raw materials in order to create new products. It targets how products are designed, promotes circular economy processes, encourages sustainable consumption, and aims to ensure that waste is prevented and the resources used are kept in the EU economy for as long as possible. The solution will be piloted in three different circular supply chains demonstrating waste reduction, reusability of scrap and production by-products, operational improvement.
