In an era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Microsoft enables customers and partners to unlock the power of AI across the enterprise to accelerate the energy transition and to create a data-driven digital foundation for a sustainable, net zero future.
The energy and resources industry is at the forefront of innovation to help solve challenges and develop new solutions to decarbonise and move toward carbon-free energy.
In an exclusive interview with Per Christian Honningsvåg, EMEA Business Leader – Energy and Resources Industry at Microsoft, he delves into the increasingly important role of AI within the energy transition, while understanding that people will continue to play a critical role.
“Today, AI is already enabling this industry to achieve more,” says Honningsvåg.
However, he notes that while the complex energy system is undergoing many changes, people remain a key part of the transition.
“For the industry to adapt to this new landscape, changes will be implemented by people. People working in and for this industry are scarce resources. Therefore, talent acquisition, upskilling, and productivity become widely important.”
