By standardising data interoperability, Europe can drive the #decarbonisation of the transport sector while safeguarding our automotive industry. The connected e-mobility ecosystem is a complex web of multiple providers, each with a vested interest in its success - and that depends on the fair and interoperable exchange of data between parties 👉 https://bit.ly/436AL4j The existing regulations and standards support data exchange, but some challenges remain. - 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: for seamless and standardised charging experiences across countries, further investment must be made in the expansion of EV charging roaming networks - 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘀: challenges created by the absence or inadequacy of standards and protocols can impact interoperability, compatibility and the overall growth of the EV ecosystem. - 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱: heat maps at the distribution level showing the level of grid congestion in different areas will help CPOs to plan for and install charging points, cut administrative delays and reduce costs - 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: interoperability can turn charging stations from a strain on the grid to a resource, which can feed back to the grid, providing peak shaving, balancing services and flexibility. - 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: to build trust and keep the EV ecosystem secure, it is crucial to use robust security measures, such as encryption, anonymisation, continuous monitoring and intrusion detection. On 26 February, together with E.DSO and EU DSO Entity, we attended, among other energy stakeholders, the #CleanTransitionDialogue, hosted by European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, to share the perspective of distribution grids on the challenges and potential solutions to implement the European Green Deal's energy and climate objectives.   💡 On 7 March, the three associations shared their support for the initiative and presented a joint proposal on how to keep the dialogue ongoing.
