      How does CertaLink Energy Certification work

      Developed with innovation partners TÜV SÜD and the German Energy Agency (dena), CertaLink Energy Certification uses blockchain technology to connect physical assets to digital decentralized infrastructure. It tracks the low and zero carbon energy from source to consumption along the value chain, validating the energy's origin plus providing detailed insights and attributes. As a result of automated and tamper-proof recording and tracking of energy-specific data, a CertaLink certificate is valid around the world through the entire low or zero carbon value chain.

          Onboarding onto the Clean Energy Certification system does not require a big investment or intensive preparation work; Most times, the meter can be connected to the blockchain via an IoT interface or directly via smart meters. A small transaction fee will be charged each time a certificate is issued.

          The Clean Energy Certificates are applicable within the whole range of the Power-to-X value chain and provide monetary added value. Clean Energy Certificates offer new business potential through full sector integration across countries, continents, and different industrial sectors.           Timely & automated issuance

          After your asset has been successfully audited by the certification body, your user profile will be released, and the automated certification issuance will be activated. For each MWh, a certificate will be automatically issued and added to the final product. Our advanced tracking model makes sure there will be no double-counting or greenwashing.

          The ability to track certificates from beginning to end, using blockchain, ensures maximum safety, transparency, and trust. Only members with permission can access the private-public blockchain. You can decide on the details of information to be shared and allowed actions. At any time in the process, suppliers, partners, and customers can find detailed information about the production process.

          The Clean Energy Certification service (CEC) integrates existing certification schemes and automates the issuance of certificates. CEC follows your regional and national regulatory requirements, and its validity is supervised by the certification body.
