LUMINIBUS makes it possible to exploit the NB-IoT standard communication network, eliminating from the projects of the managers all the technical risks (linked to interference and hostile environments), charges and costs deriving from the use of proprietary long-range RF networks.

LUMINIBUS thus makes it possible to go beyond the concept of using public lighting as a data network for smart city sensors: the most modern Smart City sensors (IoT-Internet of Things) and LUMINIBUS devices themselves exploit the NB-IoT network, which by its very nature is the most suitable for realising Smart City projects from all points of view, including the fact that each one (managers, telecommunications operators, devices and sensors) plays its role transparently towards the others and without encroachment.
 
The mangers can configure their own remote management solution using some or all of the components of LUMINIBUS according to the project objectives they wish to achieve.

Remote control of
ELECTRICAL PANELS

The LUMINIBUS concentrators can perform only remote control functions of the electrical panel in which they are installed, responding to pre-installed commands or those received from the manager, or, in the complete configuration, they can also carry out analysis of the electrical network to signal anomalies, faults and/or dispersions which are promptly highlighted to the manager by the IOTeqa software platform.
Their performance can also be extended to the finer control of the switching on and off of wires.

IoT sensors
for SMART CITY services

LUMINIBUS can integrate IoT devices that enable performances such as adaptive lighting, to give brightness to citizens where they need it without exceeding consumption, and other smart city services (e.g. management of parking availability signalling, car recharge columns, variable message panels...) to make them fully operational and interacting with the IOTeqa software platform, even if not autonomous for power supply or data communication on the NB-IoT network.

LUMINIBUS makes it possible to exploit public and standard data communication networks in such a way that accessibility is secure and guaranteed by the fact that it takes place with rules of use (communication protocols) that are known and shared by all operators.

Controllers, concentrators and IoT sensors are available in different versions to customise data communication according to project requirements. In fact, LUMINIBUS allows devices that communicate on GPRS, 3G, 4G, NB-IoT, Ethernet and/or PLC to coexist in the same project.

IOTeqa is web-based and responsive, multi-layered and allows you to monitor and manage multiple IoT services and sensors simultaneously.
In fact, in addition to the transversal functions of data acquisition, injestion and recording in structured format, IOTeqa offers verticalisations with functionalities typical of the smart city service (e.g. public lighting, water service, ...) usable from the same work session.

Using the loTeqa platform, LUMINIBUS makes it possible to remotely control several installations within the same application environment.  IoTeqa allows management by levels, so the manager can decide, for example, to work on all the alarms of several installations or to focus on just one in particular. This allows different organisational methods (e.g. assigning installations to individual groups of operators, allowing supervision over all or a group of them to certain users, etc.) to optimise not only remote control but the management and supervision of the entire activity and workloads.

LUMINIBUS includes a wide range of controllers for individual streetlamps, each specialised in lighting technology, power, installation mode and data communication.  It is therefore possible to remotely control different types of streetlamps in the same installation without having to replace them.

The manager can organise maintenance activities on the basis of the real state of the installation and of the remote-controlled components, which he knows thanks to the IOTeqa software platform with which he can consult and analyse reliable data updated daily; this allows him to organise technical interventions in a preventive manner and, in any case, even in the event of a fault without the citizen being informed.

All the system's operational data is stored in the IOTeqa software platform and can be used to produce reports on the status of a switchboard or lamppost or the entire system; this is certainly an important opportunity, for example, in cases of complaints. This and many other features of the IOTeqa software platform can also be used directly by the owner of the installation so that they can maintain supervision despite having delegated management to a third party.
