IoT sensors and radiologger

SMAQ also makes it possible to implement water network monitoring systems by deploying IoT sensors, including process meters, combined with radiologgers at strategic points in the network.
The variety of IoT sensors makes it possible to develop ad hoc solutions with respect to the needs of the manager: water leaks, tampering, operational measurements and much more.

IOT SENSORS

The IoT sensors are SMAQ-compliant and are supplied together with the radiologger; they are devices selected by APKAPPA for their robustness, performance and reliability.

Positioned at strategic points in the water network, they are responsible for detecting certain quantities (pressure, volume and overflow) which are transmitted by the RNB10 radiologger to the SMAQ SAC centre.
Here, the data is processed in order to provide useful and intelligible information to the operators of the manager.

RADIOLOGGER add-on for IoT sensors

The RNB10 radiologger can be combined with IoT sensors and industrial meters that are ready for remote reading, regardless of their brand and range.

RNB10

It obtains information from the sensor and/or meter regarding the quantity of water passing through (reading index, maximum and minimum flow rate) through a pulse counter accessory, supplied with it, and other information useful for identifying situations of leakage, overflow, lack of resource as well as signalling situations in which its battery is below 10% or the cable connecting it to the device has been disconnected.

It records the data collected and transmits it to the IOTeqa software platform at set times or on demand. It can be programmed to send data streams several times a day or on demand for periods of "detection campaign" or at fixed intervals at least once a day.

It is self-powered and does not need electrical connections.
It works even in hostile environments (e.g. flooding, underground manholes with cast-iron reinforcement and manhole covers, outdoors) thanks to its robustness, degree of protection (IP68) and the fact that it communicates via the NB-IoT public wireless network.

Depending on the operator's preference, it can be supplied with NB-IoT connectivity included, thus avoiding the need for the operator to sign agreements with NB-IoT providers, or it can be supplied with the operator's agreement.
It is guaranteed to operate for at least 10 years from its first installation.

DATA ANALYSIS

All data generated by the IoT sensors are transferred via the radiologger to the IoT software platform, called IoTeqa.

Here they are recorded in their original format, processed to turn them into structured data and recorded in a data warehouse on which many analysis and statistical functions are based, predefined or set according to the type of monitoring activity the operator intends to carry out, so that they support:

detection of water leaks
Identification of possible tampering
drafting of water balances
Decisions on districtisation.
